MUSE the Horse needs a home
Muse came to Longmeadow in February 2017. After an entire year of rehabilitation Muse is FINALLY available for adoption. We believe Muse would not have survived another month at her previous home before coming to Longmeadow. She was a Body Condition Score of 1, which means she had NO fat left on her body. She was living in a pasture but had numerous dental problems and was unable to eat what little food she was given. The damaged teeth were draining from areas close to her cheeks and she smelled horrible.
Even though it seemed like Muse hadn''t seen a nice human in a very long time, she was very trusting and well-behaved. Muse endured months of painful flushing and cleaning, as well as oral antibiotics to control the infection. She had to wait until she was a healthy weight before she could have surgery to remove the damaged teeth. Muse gained 313 lbs while eating a special diet. She was a trooper for her surgery and has been a vet clinic and ranch favorite.
Now that Muse is fully healed she is ready to start training for riding. We believe she may have had some training in the past but she''s a bit rusty so we are going to start her over. She has such a calm and relaxed personality we think she may have potential for a beginner level rider but we will want to spend more time training her first.
